Luca Okros
London-based Georgian concert pianist Luca Okros has established himself as one of the most outstanding pianists of his generation. The Observer praised his playing as "an impressive display of virtuosic pianism," while the Spanish newspaper Levante described him as "an Artist of the Sound."
Born in 1991 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Luca began studying the piano at the age of four and gave his first solo recital at just five years old. He graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, where he studied with Professor Sergei Dorensky, and later from the Royal College of Music in London under Professor Norma Fisher.
In 2016, Arts Council England awarded him the Exceptional Talent Visa in recognition of his artistic achievements.
Luca has received numerous international accolades, including the Verbier Festival Piano Award by the Tabor Foundation, First Prize at the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, the Valencia Iturbi International Piano Competition, the Hannover Chopin International Piano Competition, the Morocco Philharmonic International Piano Competition, and the FAZ Audience Award at the 2019 International German Piano Award.
He has performed in many of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Het Concertgebouw, Southbank Centre, Konzerthaus Berlin, Wigmore Hall, Harpa Concert Hall, the Liszt Academy, Musiikkitalo, Oslo Konserthus, Palau de la Música Valencia, and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
Highlights of the 2022–2023 season included recital tours in Finland, France, Iceland, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Luca has released two albums: Schumann, recorded at Salle Cortot in Paris and released on 17 November 2016, and Chopin, presented at London's Southbank Centre on 16 July 2019.
Alongside his performing career, Luca is also a composer and is currently working on an album of his own compositions. One of his original works was filmed and premiered as part of Het Concertgebouw Sessions, and his compositions are published by Master Music Publications.
Since 2021, Luca has served as Assistant Artistic Director of Bechstein Hall, London's renowned concert venue on Wigmore Street.
Beyond the concert stage, Luca has built a significant online presence as a classical music influencer, with approximately 100,000 followers on Instagram.
